They found that a special type of model (GRU-D) could pick up early warning signs up to a year before diagnosis, while simpler models worked better just before the cancer was found. The results suggest blood tests could help catch pancreatic cancer earlier, but more research is needed to use these tools safely in real-life healthcare.
